The Week After!

11x17AUGnewposter-page-001 (1)Hopstring Fest 2016 was an amazing celebration & John & The Old Gang Orchestra played an inspired set on Saturday afternoon, unveiling a larger band for the first time, augmented by the addition of Kevin Krauss on keyboards & Ellis Wright on saxophone. The sonic result was well received & the majority of the set contained new material, hinting at exciting things to come for 2017! The momentum continues this week as John will play his monthly residency @ Chicago St. Pub on Thursday Aug 25th & close out the “Hopstring Hangover” week w/ a return to the Will County Fest on Sat. Aug 27th for a solo matinee set! Check back regularly for updates & announcements!


The 2016 installment of Hopstring Fest is rapidly approaching & John Condron & the Old Gang Orchestra are thrilled to be included once again in the lineup! Hopstring has grown into one of the finest festivals in the country & this years lineup promises to be the most exciting to date! Billed as a family friendly celebration of Craft beer & roots rock music, the annual gathering draws thousands of people from all over to Silver Cross field in Joliet IL, to see some of the best touring & local acts around. Wednesdays Are For Ribbon Cuttings, Half Acre Beer & Farmers Markets!

Kicking off the summer long Farmers Market festivities in Downtown Joliet, following a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wed, June 8th! John will play solo beginning @ 6pm. Special thanks to the good people @ Half Acre beer Co. for their support & involvement in such a fantastic event (also…they make great beer!) & as always to everyone @ the famed Chicago Street Pub for their undying dedication to original artists & for helping to bring events like this to the area!3rdcity

A Fantastic Return To Third City!

3rdcity The Old Gang Orchestra made it’s return to the live room @ Third City Sound on Friday 5/6. The night served as a celebration of talent & community & featured an eclectic bill including, Vaudevilleins front man, Jeff Julian, Chicago area favorite Hill Dunes & NPR featured act from Philadelphia, Tutlie! John & the “gang” finished out the evening w/ a rousing set, heavy on newer material & involving quite a bit of participation from the enthusiastic crowd!  Third City Sound has repeatedly put on amazing shows over the past few years & this one was no exception…Thanks for including The Old Gang Orchestra on the bill!
